Children are full of curiosity and creativity. Art materials can provide deeply fulfilling, stimulating experiences for children. These materials encourage young learners to linger and develop devotion to their work. When we allow children to have regular access to art, and focus on the process rather than the product, children become self-assured and confident. We engage verbally with them while they are painting. We ask them about colour, notice lines and express curiosity about whatever they have to say. These experiences build upon each other to create a trajectory of artistic development and a lifetime of enjoyment.
